Graphic Designers interpret the brand and marketing needs of clients to drive sales/revenue and convey a certain message to consumers. A Graphic Designer is an artist who creates visual text and imagery. They design creative content for online campaigns, print ads, websites, and even videos.
Job description:
- Conceptualising visuals based on requirements
- Create visual content
- Creating images and layouts by hand or using design software
- Testing graphics across various media
- Study design briefs and determine requirements
- Schedule projects and define budget constraints
- Conceptualise visuals based on requirements
- Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
- Preparing mockups and presenting to clients before deciding on a final design/concept
- Editing proofs to client’s specifications and getting sign-off/approval before finalising artwork
- Working and collaborating with art directors, copywriters, photographers and other designers
- Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
- Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic
- Work with copywriters and creative director to produce the final design
- Test graphics across various media
- Amend designs after feedback
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders about the progress of projects and any issues that may arise
- Working with external departments to extend concepts and visuals to other internal and external marketing-related material
- Make sure artwork is correct and supplied in the right format/sizes/colour codes before being sent to press and production facilities
- Work on multiple briefs at the same time
Requirements and skills
- Proven graphic designing experience
- Be creative, adaptable to trends and conceptualise original ideas
- Good communication skills to accurately convey your concepts to clients and team members
- A strong portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
- Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details
- Have an active interest in art/design and are passionate about the work you deliver
- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
- A degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
- At least 3 years of experience in a creative position
